Pass on Poinsettias, Turn to Tomatoes

Monday, December 12th, 2011

Teens who are tired of the same old poinsettias decorating their homes this season, can take a tip from the University of New Hampshire’s researchers who polled folks at their open house this year. They had on display beautiful little potted cherry tomato plants and asked their guests how likely they would be to buy them as a gift. Since more than 80 percent said they would be interested, watch for those little tomato plants next year, as the school’s Macfarlane Greenhouses plans to have more available earlier.
